The Pendant Project....Remembering Saoirse

There were so many people that were important in Saoirse's life. Those that were the closest to her will be receiving a pendant that I made to remember her. I made these pendants from casting resin and embedded two things within them - 1: a bead from the beads program at the hospital (each bead represents a procedure or event in her treatment), and 2: a little bit of her ashes. I made them instead of finding vial pendants to put her ashes in. This is much more personal (and less breakable).

If you receive a pendant, there is one requirement that comes with it - this is where the Pendant Project comes in. When you travel, whether near or far, take a picture of Saoirse's pendant where you are so we can keep track of all the places she has been. Email the pictures to thependantproject@gmail.com along with the place and the date (month and year are fine). The images will be shared here, as well as put into photo books that will show all the places she has been. The goal? To have Saoirse be able to see the world and to spread her message of strength wherever she goes.

Together, let's make Saoirse the most well traveled toddler ever!

  2. Wow! This is breath taking! Can't wait to see all the "places shell go!"

"And when things start to happen, don't worry. Don't stew. Just go right along. You'll start happening too.

    OH! THE PLACES YOU'LL GO!

You'll be on your way up! You'll be seeing great sights! You'll join the high fliers who soar to high heights. "

This is an amazing idea! You are the best parents and have the most creative ideas on how to honor those that mean a lot to all 3 of you. I read this and looked at the pictures and I got the chills. This was a very powerful message of how ones passing doesn't mean they are gone!!! You are wonderful people and even though I do not know you personally you are an inspiration to me and my family!!!

    1. This is a beautiful way to honor your beautiful daughter!Have you considered making a special pendant to sell and have the proceeds go towards funds and research. There are so many people from all over the country that have been inspired by Saoirse and would love to show their support.I am from Maine and share your story all the time!Maybe they could even add a picture of their pendant from where they live and you can really see all the places Saoirse has been and how she lives on through all the lives she's touched.

  6. This is so touching! I absolutely love the idea of this! Your doing this, really shows your love and devotion to your daughter, even though she is no longer with you here on earth. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I make cards and my boyfriend makes wall art, decals, t-shirts and occasionally does some glass etching. I hope this helps with your mission! You are wonderful people! Good luck on your project. I am also a friend on your Fitzgerald Cancer page on FB if you would like to get a hold of me.
